Following Yolande Perron’s death, members of the Institute received many testimonies of affection from Volunteers of God and other Oblates who have known and loved her. The National Federation of Secular Institues of Peru, in which Yolanda has been active, published her obituary, soon followed by the Confederation of Secular Institutes of Latin America.
Indeed, this Canadian from Abitibi, Québec, worked in Honduras (1964-1973); and in Peru (1992-2006). She was on the Administrative Council of the Institute (1977-1989).
These are times of suffering in Peru, with heavy rains and floods causing deaths, and much material damage. The two Oblates and the teams of Volunteers of God in the Lima suburb are inspired by “Yolanda”’s example of charity, in their actions to help the most in need.
